My name is Tim Wilkinson, I am 29 from Nottingham and I have been photographing Motor Sport for the past seven years, and more recently I have also taken an interest in the world of Equine Sports and Three Day Eventing in particular the Cross Country element.

How I got started… ...
I was given a 35mm Canon SLR for my eighteenth birthday and haven'’t looked back. Having the camera and tickets to the Formula One British Grand Prix at Silverstone I had the perfect excuse I needed to start taking photos of a sport I had come to love, as the years have gone by I have attended a wide variety of motor sport events as my passion for speed has grown, and with my Dad at my side I have spent hours on the side of race track taking photo after photo.

In the first couple of years developing costs limited what I could afford to do, however, with the introduction of digital cameras all this changed, and I was in position to take loads more photos and as a result the quality of my photographs quickly improved. Today I am totally digital. I mainly use a Canon 40D backed up with a Canon 20D, I prodominately use Sigma lens and have access to a Sigma 28-300mm and Sigma 170-500mm, and my new Sigma 70-200m f2.8 Marco (a superb lens) .

Have a look around and see what you think, in the galleries you will see a selection of work from my portfolio covering a range of different motor sports I have photographed over the past couple of years.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look, I will be updating the site frequently so stop by soon and see what's new.

Best Wishes
Tim Wilkinson
